The Friedrich Flick Förderstiftung , a foundation under private law based in Düsseldorf in Germany, can now look back on over 50 years of funding activity.
The Friedrich Flick Promotion Foundation was founded by Dr. Friedrich Flick (born July 10, 1883 in Kreuztal-Ernsdorf, + July 20, 1972 in Konstanz) on the occasion of his 80th birthday on July 10, 1963 in Düsseldorf.
A significant donation was made in the 1990s by his son, Dr. Friedrich Karl Flick (*February 3, 1927, +October 5, 2006), who also served as chairman of the board of trustees of the Friedrich Flick Promotion Foundation from 1972 to 2005.
In 2006, Ingrid Flick took over the chairmanship of the board of trustees of the Friedrich Flick Promotion Foundation.
The Friedrich Flick Promotion Foundation is recognized as serving exclusively and directly charitable purposes. According to the statutes, the main purpose is to promote the general public, primarily through funding for science , in particular for economics, technology and research . The foundation also serves to promote gifted young professionals and young talents.
In addition, the foundation can also support tax-privileged institutions that use the funds made available for projects and initiatives in the areas of education and training, as well as in the social area, such as youth and disabled assistance, as well as in the area of art and culture. The foundation’s funds may only be used for statutory purposes.
The Friedrich Flick Promotion Foundation operates primarily in Germany , but also beyond national borders, including in Austria .
